6 Day Tour, 8 hour Passion Play - only once every 10 years..don't miss it

The Passion Play is held once every 10 years in the small Bavarian village of Oberammergau. ECT has secured tickets for the performance on Sunday 6th June 2010.

To fully commemorate The Passion Play in Oberammergau, ECT are offering a tailor-made 6 day tour package to both Oberammergau and the Tyrol Valley.

What makes the Passion Play so different?

Only residents who were born or have lived in Oberammergau for at least 20 years and children are allowed to participate. During the six months the Pasion Play is held, more than one third of villagers volunteer to take part for a small token payment. Any profit made by the Passion Play is re-invested straight back into local facilities to help preserve the unique and authentic village traditions.

No Long Walk Home

We have available rooms in small, authentic private guesthouses, a short distance from the village of Oberammergua, making the coach journey back to your room more convenient, after the late 10.30pm finish. A 3 course lunch will be organised before the play commences and dinner served in the 3 hour interval between 5.00-8.00pm.

Salzburg & Innsbruck

Departing from Calais on Wednesday 2nd June, the coach journey continues through the beautiful Tyrol Valley, taking in a guided tour of both Salzburg and Innsbruck.

Oberramergau in the Bavarian Alps

In addition to the Passion Play, there will also be time allocated to explore Oberammergau, a small town of some 5,000 inhabitants, seeped in history and proud of its museum and heritage. Set amidst the mountains of the Bavarian Alps, each home is lovingly painted using traditional Bavarian motifs and decor.
